+67Ranking net score+67 from reviews and discussions0 from votes on BettaScore
    21 sources
    Why it ranks
Espresso turns out consistent and flavorful once the ratios are dialed in, and a guided cleaning wizard keeps weekly upkeep quick. The trade-off sits outside the cup: the companion app can be slow, and repairs may drag on for months when something breaks.
    What people praise
    • Iced lattes can beat typical coffee-shop quality
    • Milk foam is good enough for basic latte art
    • Menu is easy to navigate to find drinks
    Common complaints
    • Coffee Link app is slow and unintuitive
    • Repairs can take over two months from first support call

    • App schedules automatic on/off times
    • Great thermal stability while brewing
    Common complaints

    Why it ranks
Easy dial-in and intuitive controls make excellent shots simple to pull, and the steam wand textures milk well enough for latte art. Reliability is the caveat: the grinder can fail within months, and frothing may trigger shutdown errors.

    • Steam wand steams milk with the best of them
    • Adjustable grind size helps dial in shots
    • Produces a solid, well-formed puck
    Common complaints
    • Grinder can fail completely within months
    • ER09 error can shut the machine off mid-froth

    Why it ranks
Hands-off milk frothing and on-screen grind guidance take much of the guesswork out of lattes and cappuccinos. Shot consistency is the weak spot: extraction times and strength can vary, and the auto-tamped puck sometimes spins.
    What people praise
    • Heats up almost immediately
    • Foam density is customizable
    • Touchscreen is highly responsive
    Common complaints
    • Shot results can vary from pull to pull
    • Grinder doesn't adjust smoothly, making settings hard to hit

    Why it ranks
A tank-like build and a surprisingly quiet vibratory pump back up great espresso. Steam power is the softer spot, though it still produces good microfoam, and units can arrive with finish defects or a misaligned panel.
    What people praise
    • Build quality feels like a tank
    • Produces great microfoam quickly enough
    • Strong value for the money
    Common complaints
    • Steam power is its weakest area

    Why it ranks
Café-quality espresso comes with rock-solid reliability that holds up through long-term daily use. The trade-offs are bulk and upkeep: it is heavy, can be too large for tight spaces, and needs good water filtration to limit mineral buildup.
    What people praise
    • Heats up in about 10 minutes
    • Hidden front-loading reservoir fits under cabinets
    • Great thermal stability at the puck
    Common complaints

    • Cleanup is quick and easy
    • Water reservoir lasts a long time between refills

Hot and cold espresso plus automatic or manual milk steaming cover a wide range of drinks, and setup is easy once it's out of the box. Brew pressure can fall short, leaving shots without crema, and the bulky body won't fit under every cabinet.
    What people praise

How this list is ranked

Who is eligible
Every coffee machine in our reviewed catalogue is included. A product must brew coffee; standalone grinders and kettles are excluded. The list opens on current models, those released in the last 2½ years (since Apr 2024); choose Include older models under Models to list them too. A product without a release date on record is always listed.
How they are ordered
By default, products are ordered by Ranking Net Score: points from reviews and discussions plus points from votes on BettaScore. Ties go to the product with more sources. Filtering or sorting renumbers the results from No. 1. Products without scored evidence stay Unranked and are not numbered.
Where the evidence comes from
684 public review sources across the matching products. Select a review topic on any card to see the quotes behind its points.
When it changes
The product list and review scores change only when we publish a reviewed update. Signed-in visitors can vote on each review topic (open a topic on a card): every vote adds or takes 0.1 points from that topic and from the Ranking Net Score straight away, and the order follows on the next page load. Votes are stored apart from review evidence, so they carry over between updates. Review evidence is from October 1, 2026.
Who pays for it
Nobody. BettaScore does not accept payment for placement. Each card shows review points and topic-vote points separately, even though their sum sets the default order.

What to look for in a coffee machine

Start with the drink and workflow you actually want. Espresso, drip, pods, cold brew and pour-over ask for different levels of control, cleanup and counter space, so use Brew Method before comparing scores across machines you would never cross-shop.

Then compare repeatability, milk workflow, grinder performance and maintenance in the evidence rail. A higher rank is a useful starting point, but the linked praise and complaints show whether a machine's trade-offs fit your kitchen and routine.

Questions to take to every card on this page

  • Does the brew method match the drinks you make most often?
  • Do the controls provide the amount of automation or hands-on control you want?
  • If you make milk drinks, what do owners report about steaming and cleanup?
  • Are grinder, maintenance, size and reliability trade-offs supported by enough linked sources?

Frequently asked questions

What does this coffee machine list cover?
Every reviewed coffee machine in our catalogue. Machines with scored review evidence get a rank; the rest stay on the list, marked Unranked.
How is the default order calculated?
Ranking Net Score adds points from reviews and discussions to points from BettaScore votes, and each card shows both parts. A vote counts right away: it updates the card and can move the product in the list.
What happens when I filter or sort?
Filters and sorting apply to the whole list, not just the cards on screen. Scored matches are renumbered from No. 1; products without scored review evidence stay Unranked.
Why are some specifications missing?
BettaScore shows only the facts it has on record. An unknown value is not treated as No, and we never fill a missing specification or evidence section with a made-up claim.
