Build & Reliability-1 pts
Hello. I bought a Nami Burn-E 2 Max about a month ago. Here's what I've experienced. If anyone has had similar problems and knows how to fix them, I'm desperate for help at this point.
1. The PIN settings. This scooter has an extra security feature that's supposed to let you set an access PIN as a requirement to turn it on. Supposedly. One day I entered my PIN wrong and it made my controller display 'error.' That would normally be expected, except... the scooter turned on anyway. I couldn't believe it so I tested it again, and again, again. The PIN doesn't actually do anything other than make it take longer to turn your scooter on. It will accept anything.
2. The headlights. From the moment my scooter hit the road the first day, I noticed my front headlight would flicker rapidly and faintly. The headlight has a controller similar to a motorcycle. It's just a button you press to turn on/off and has a blue indicator light on the controller to show you the status of your headlight. When on, it's a vivid blue color and is nice. When off, that blue indicator light is faint and constantly flickering in tandem with the main headlight. This happens maybe 95% of the time. I've had a few occasions where the scooter actually behaves as intended and turns the headlight/controller indicator light off.
3. The front motor. There's literally no explanation I can think of as to why the front motor won't drive. The factory settings, drive mode, P setting 1.1-1.7 have all been manipulated extensively. I've read the entire manual word-for-word at least 3 times at this point. I've even consulted our modern God, chatGPT 4.0 (which has literally looked at the user manual online and interpreted it for me in case I was overlooking something). The front motor simply does not get power. I suspect this is limiting my top speed as well, as my scooter is unable to push beyond 40mph with the single motor.
4. The SHUTTING OFF. This scooter, from the day it's unboxed, has a problem with perpetually shutting off while driving it. Sometimes a bump will trigger it. Sometimes it's a puddle of water. It won't turn the entire scooter off, it will make the controller turn black and the headlight off. The NFC on/off switch maintains a light indicating that the scooter is on and the headlight control indicator light will ALWAYS appear as though it's 'off' by flickering a light blue indicator light. I have to power cycle my scooter every time to fix this issue.
5. The hydraulic brakes. My front hydraulic brake was not delivered properly bled. The brake clearly makes sounds indicative of a hydraulic braking system that needs to have air removed (I've bled brakes on my jeep several times). The front brake on a scooter accounts for 70% of the braking power...
As of right now, this scooter is proving to be incredibly unreliable in terms of electrical issues. I've been going back and forth with FluidFreeRide and they said I might need a different controller. I also will note that in an email chain with support with 6 emails, the service representative has not even acknowledged the PIN issue or presented a solution or IDEA as to what's going on. I mention it and then he responds to something else.
My concern is that the user manual explicitly states that the scooter's warranty is completely void the moment it accelerates beyond 15mph. I feel as though I've been dealt a defective product and it's not being handled seriously. The warranty loophole is a dirty business tactic.
Anybody have a similar experience? Anyone have an idea what's going on?
