    But when the grid comes back up, it detects that it's connected to AC In but there's no charging/input wattage showing. If I manually turn off the AC outputs, then it will start charging.

    Even using a very sensitive light that I typically can see some type of flicker shows nothing happening when I unplug it and it doesn't switch even with a load being drawn on it.
