I never tested switchbot original Smart Lock because it wasn't compatible with my doors the lock Pro however is which is great
this makes it one of the more affordable smart logs out there especially for one that is compatible with Mata and therefore Apple home
you didn't have to remove the inside guts outside guts or anything you simply took this lock and you glued it right on top of your current lock
there are so many different options for unlocking this lock starting off you can use your Apple watch adding a keypad will allow you to use PIN codes fingerprint readers and NFC tags
switchbot did take that feedback which is why we have a more professional looking lock in the switchbot lock Pro
lock meaning that you are just replacing the inside portion of the door and the outside portion is going to look the same it's going to use the same Keys as you had before

there are basically three different options first there's the Standalone version of the lock Pro which allows us to unlock it via Bluetooth with the smartphone
the switchbot lock Pro will fit a much wider variety of locking mechanisms and cylinders
this is not HomeKey compatible, at least not yet
if you incorporate this thing with the switchbot Hub 2 or their new Hub mini with matter capabilities then of course you have the ability to add this to things like homekit and maybe even home assistant utilizing matter
I love being able to leave the house press the button on one of the keypads and then hear that audible beep that it's locked
this lock I've been using it for over a year and it has been very reliable

this is a little chunky in that it sits out from the door itself a little more than you would have with a door knob or the locking mechanism that was here before
