Main Differences Between Specialized Turbo Vado

    the motor & frame are the same, yes but there are a lot of differences between the 4 and 5. * The 5.0 has a carbon fork / the 4.0 has an aluminum fork. * The 5.0 has the new 'Mastermind' controller which is a color-display with all sorts of information / 4.0 has the old controller (which shows mode & battery life). * the 5.0 has future shock, which adds weight but reduces road vibration / the 4.0 doesn't. * the 5.0 has a 12 speed GX group / the 4.0 has an 11-speed NX drivetrain * the 5.0 has DT Swiss rims, the 4.0 does not * the 5.0 has a brighter 310 lumen light / the 4.0 has a 260 lumen light I have an older model year Vado SL 4.0 which has been perfectly fine for what I do. Although it wasn't listed as such, it can absolutely be run tubeless, provided you upgrade the tires to ones which are tubeless ready.
