Segway Gt3 Pro What Is Your Opinion

  • Speed, Power & Hills+1 pts

it handles most of the hills in my city really well.

  • Handling, Terrain & Tires+1 pts

Solid choice. I have the Segway GT3 Pro and it handles most of the hills in my city really well. That said, I don’t live in a mountainous area like you do. One really nice feature is the automatic downhill assist — it kicks in on its own when going down slopes so you don’t pick up crazy speed, but descend at a safe, controlled pace instead. Another nice feature is that it unlocks when your cellphone is near. If you don't have your cellphone with you, you can still use a 4-digit password to unlock it.

Segway Gt3 Pro Powerhouse Commuter

I'll start my review by letting you all know I have ADHD and I'm autistic, so this review will be super detailed, but probably jump around a lot. Cheers, and I hope this is helpful. I went from a Segway Max G2 that was having trouble with the Tallahassee hills, to a GT3 Pro that has so much power that I was having trouble keeping a proper grip from such powerful acceleration when I first got it. I've since gotten used to the jolt of power when using 2WD mode. I know Segway has a history of not using the beefiest wires, so I try not to use regenerative braking too often when it's hot out, but it is neat to note the level of difference in regeneration between 1WD and 2WD modes. When I got this scooter, I wasn't expecting something with enough oomph to consistently be the first one through the intersection, but I've gotten used to it with the help of riding gloves. The headlight is so bright that I can only use the lower level when driving in traffic, otherwise it becomes a bit of a hazard for other drivers. The turn signals have been absolutely wonderful, and I'm glad to see them on the back in addition to the handlebars. Anything to increase visibility is always welcomed, so long as it doesn't distract in a bad way. I also tried the handlebar mirrors from Segway with the GT3 Pro, and I'll say that if you're using any mode faster than ECO mode, they're probably going to shift around a bit. I've had multiple rides where I've had to pull over before a mirror came off entirely, so I've opted to remove them. (only mentioning them because they are in the photo) Though, I would really love to get something set up that lets me see behind myself without having to just turn around. I can basically Exorcist that ish, but it is really doing a number on my neck to turn around when going 50mph, but I also worry that if I lose a mirror that it could injure someone else on the road or sidewalk. Suggestions/recommendations welcome :) I got to 1000 miles on the odometer as of last week, and I'm still thrilled with my GT3 Pro. I will say that getting parts was iffy in the beginning, which was not fun when I had a hole in my tire on my first trip, less than 10 miles in. It took a lot of effort and was caused by a serrated nail, so I thought it was going to rip it up, but the sealing gel inside the tire managed to keep the tire in a useable state for these 1000+ miles. I was a bit nervous about it and made sure I got another tire ordered the first time I saw it available online. It does lose pressure after a day or so, but it has been able to hold up through 30 mile trips without losing pressure, so I'm still using the original set. The charger also gets really hot, so I always have it set on something metal that will help it from overheating, and haven't had any issues, even if charging in the garage when it's 90º . I can check how the battery health is, which is a big improvement over the previous generation, and it helped me to be more conscious of factors like outdoor temperature when planning rides to try and maximize battery longevity by avoiding overheating the battery by driving on a hot road for too long. Summarized. I still love it. I love the minimal maintenance needed to keep going. I dislike having to deal with Segway to get parts because it can be a tossup, but generally goes okay. Always wear a helmet, and happy riding! Cheers ✌🏻

Ignore the haters. I don't know what those bozos are doing to have problems with the suspension, but it's not commuting. I've had mine for almost 6 months, close to 1200 miles. I have had zero glitches or mechanical problems. It's my only vehicle, so I've ridden in the rain plenty of times, also about ten times in various levels of snow and ice; 2WD traction control does really well. I've left the scooter parked in 20 degree F all day then rode home with no problems. My commute is only a few miles but it's mostly 45mph; I have no problem staying with traffic even on a pretty steep uphill. It does feel like the 51mph max speed is an artificial limit, but I don't really want to go any faster... I will say though, so many people complain about speed wobble on those cheap hyper scooters, how you need a steering damper.... yeah, uh, no... this thing is super stable at all times. Highly recommend.

So, this is definitely a street tread. You might be able to ride it off-road, but it probably will be slippery.

I’m happy with mine after 823 miles. I have a 34-mile round trip commute with moderate hills on one charge. It locks through the frame for better security than most. It’s a tank, so don’t get it if you need to haul it up stairs.
