I'd be to pay a premium for a device like this if I wasn't limited to the manufacturers own app for collecting and interpreting data. As is? Nah...
I would really like such a thing, if it was just the hardware and not the associated lock in to a third party getting their grubby hands on my internal metrics.
I’m supposed to return the Ring 4, but I have an in-lab polysomnography (sleep study) in 2 days. So I figured, why not wear both rings during the test and finally see how accurate each one really is? So far, though, I’m noticing a pretty significant difference in comfort. Holding a phone while typing or lifting weights is noticeably more annoying with the 4. The 5, on the other hand, is so unobtrusive that I almost forget it’s there. For me, comfort alone might already be making a strong case.
I generally just pull the data into Python, and analyze it myself.
